A woman in Tampa gave birth after pulling onto the shoulder of the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway early Tuesday. Grendalee Rosales, 27, and baby Jaden Rosales were admitted to Tampa General Hospital where they met with media on Tuesday afternoon.
“He’s quite adorable,” hospital spokeswoman Lisa Greene said.
The baby was born sometime before 3:30 a.m., Hillsborough County Fire Rescue spokesman Ron Rivera said.
After the woman went into labor, the parents-to-be stopped their vehicle near the toll road’s 78th Street entrance. The father reportedly flagged down a passer-by to help him with the birth. The baby was born before a Fire Rescue crew arrived, Rivera said.
